A Special Session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Thursday, October 3, 1991, at three thirty-five o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilmembers Barry, Robert Lynch and Rabbitt; Chairman Houle Presides.
Communication from President Raymond W. Houle, Jr., calling a SPECIAL SESSION of the City Council for Thursday, October 3, 1991, at 3:30 PM is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
A FORMAL HEARING REGARDING THE CLASS B (Victualer) LIQUOR LICENSE OF Derrick’s Food and Spirits Inc., 242 Middle Street LIC#144 is taken up:
Representing the City of Pawtucket is Gerald J. Pouliot, Acting City Solicitor.
Also representing the Police Department is Detective Alan Vary.
Representing Derrick’s Food and Spirits Inc., is owner Robert Derrick, 500 Waterman Avenue, East Providence
Mr. Derrick’s Attorney is Michael Burns, 97 Cottage St, who is also present.
Councilman Lynch leaves the Council Chamber at 4:15 PM.

Upon Motion made by Councilman Vieira, seconded by Councilman Kinder, the CLASS B Victualer liquor license of Derrick’s Food and Spirits Inc., 242 Middle Street IS IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Houle, Councilmembers Calista, Doyle, Kinder, and Vieira.
Noes - 0.
SUSPENSION TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY UNTIL CRIMINAL CHARGES ARE RESOLVED FOR FOLLOWING REASONS:
1. Serving after hours
2. Physical threats to life
3. Failure to maintain control - rowdyism
4. Disorderly conduct with criminal charges pending
Summons to Robert J. Derrick, President of Derrick’s Food and Spirits Inc., 242 Middle Street to appear at a Formal Hearing scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 1991, at 3:30 PM is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILMAN KINDER.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilman Kinder, seconded by Councilman Vieira, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instruct to notify the Dante Aligheiri Social Club, 22 Hurley Avenue, that upon completion of parking lot as approved by the Zoning Board and the placing of a neighbor on the Clubs Membership Committee, the Class D Liquor License will be reinstated.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILMAN VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilman Vieira, seconded by Councilman Calista, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is requested to obtain a police computer printout of any activities at Stooges Inc, 90 Broad Street, since the Council’s approval of a temporary entertainment licence; further, said entertainment license is extended until December 1, 1991.
