A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, March 6, 1991, at seven thirty-five o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilmen Robert Lynch and William Lynch and Chairman Houle presides.
The reading of the records of February 20, 1991, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

THE FOLLOWING MATTER WAS LAID ON THE TABLE AT THE MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 20, 1991, AND IS AGAIN TAKEN UP AND IS AGAIN LAID ON THE TABLE ON A UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE:
Communication from R. Gary Clark, Tax Administrator, RI Division of Taxation, requesting that the liquor license renewal of Sully’s Pub Inc., 617 Prospect Street, be withdrawn pending payment of delinquent taxes to State.

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilman Barry, secended by Councilman Vieira, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Kevin O’Sullivan, President of Sully’s Pub Inc., to provide the Certificate of Good Standing from the State, to the City Clerk in time for the meeting of March 20, 1991. If not, action may be taken to pull this licenses until such time as it is delivered to the Clerk’s Office.
Decision from the RI Liquor Control Administrator in the matter of Portugalia Liquors Inc., is Read and Ordered Filed.
Police Criminal History Information on Paul J. Wenz is Read and Ordered Filed.

With majority consent of the Council, Councilman Barry introduces the following entitled communication:
Communication from Captain Andrews, RI State Police, to Pawtucket Police Captain Robert Morris regarding arrest of Paul Jan Wenz.
Upon Motion made by Councilman Barry, seconded by Councilman Rabbitt, the following entitled communication is Read and ordered Filed:

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilman Barry, seconded by Councilman Rabbitt, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a summons to the Officers of Jan’s Place Inc., 58-60 Middle Street and the Lily Social Club, 158 South Bend Street, to appear at a Formal Hearing to be conducted by the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners, to answer criminal charges regarding gambiling violations filed by the Pawtucket Police Department and to show cause why these licenses should not be revoked by the Pawtucket Board of Licenses Commissioners.
The Clerk is further instructed to send a communication to Fred E. Joslyn, Jr., City Solicitor, inviting him to the Formal Hearing on Wednesday, March 20, 1991, regarding the criminal activites of Mr. Paul Jan Wenz, occurring at Jan’s Place and Lily Social Club Inc.
Also requested that a communication be sent to the Chief of Police requesting a record of all criminal activities at these two establishments in time for the hearing.
Upon Motion made by Councilman Barry seconded by Councilman Kinder, the meeting is adjourned at eight fifteen o’clock p.m.
