A regular session of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners is held Wednesday, February 20, 1991, at eight seventeen o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilmen Barry, Calista, and Rabbitt; Chairman Houle presides.
The reading of the records of February 6, 1991, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Communication from John W. Tomlinson, Chief of Police, submitting Police Report No. 91-05399 regarding LaVault’s Restaurant, 55 Memorial Drive is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILMAN VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilman Vieira, seconded by Councilman Robert Lynch, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to Summons the owner of LaVault’s Restaurant, 55 Memorial Drive, to attend a Formal Hearing to be held on March 6, 1991, in response to Police Offense Report No. 91-05399 involving the owner in a drug related incident.
The Clerk is further instructed to request a representative of the Police Department to attend this hearing and to submit, prior to the formal hearing, the test results on any substances taken from LaVault’s.
Communication from R. Gary Clark, Tax Administrator, RI Division of Taxation, requesting that the liquor license renewal of Sully’s Pub Inc., 617 Prospect Street be withdrawn pending payment of delinquent taxes to State is ORDERED FILED AND THE MATTER IS LAID ON THE TABLE on a unanimous voice vote.
A Public Hearing is held on the following application for license advertised for this time:
CLASS B (Victualer) REQUEST CHANGE FROM CLASS “C”
GEO’S BAR INC., 945-947 MINERAL SPRING AVENUE LIC #142
Speaking in favor is Gay Havers, Manager, 201 Reservoir Avenue, Lincoln, RI.
Councilman Vieira asks why does the applicant want to change the type of license he now has.
Ms. Havers states that they want to serve sandwiches and food and wants to be open on Sundays until Midnight.
Ms. Havers states that they have not had any parking problems, although the parking is limited to on-street only.
Ms. Havers further states that they would be willing to close at Midnight during the week.
Speaking in opposition is Margaret Turbitt, 939 Mineral Spring Avenue.
Ms. Turbitt states that she lives next door and there have been no problems, except for parking on Steadman Street. She is opposed to any entertainment.
Speaking in opposition is Helen Bradbury, 43 Vincent Avenue.
Ms. Bradbury states that she is concerned about the language that comes from the place, because the doors are left open in the spring and summer.
There are no other speakers.
The hearing is closed.

The Clerk is instructed to send a letter to the Chief of Police requesting a compilation of all offenses brought against the Lily Social Club.
