City Council, July 20, 2022

 

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 12:19 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.  Video

 

Present – Councilors Araujo, DaRosa, Gregor, Stachowiak, Vasquez and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – President Moran and Councilors Gregor and Schuette.

 

President Pro-Tempore Mercer presides.

 

The reading of the records of the June 28, 2022, meeting of the Ordinance Committee/Committee of the Whole, and the July 6, 2022 meetings of the City Council, the Committee on Claims and Pending Suits and the City Property Committee is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk. Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Stachowiak, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote: Video

            B.     Communication from Cheryl McWilliams, Ed.D, Superintendent, Pawtucket School Department, to His Honor, Mayor Donald R. Grebien.  (Revised FY23 School Budget)

            I.       AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 410 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, 1996, ENTITLED “ZONING” CHANGE IN OFFICIAL ZONING MAP FOR 120 WEBSTER STREET (AP9 L570) FROM RT TO CG ZONE. – IS LAID ON THE TABLE AND REFERRED TO THE ORDINANCE COMMITTEE AND A PUBLIC HEARING IS SET FOR AUGUST 10, 2022.

           

            J.      THE FOLLOWING CLAIM FOR DAMAGES AGAINST THE CITY IS REFERRED TO THE LAW DEPARTMENT AND RI INTERLOCAL TRUST:

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Vasquez, the agenda is amended to include the following communication, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

Communication from Dylan M. Zelazo, Director of Administration, to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council, informing them of a property sale agreement between the City of Pawtucket and Riverside Burial Society of Pawtucket (Morley Field).

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Araujo, seconded by Councilor Stachowiak, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND REFERRED TO THE CITY PROPERTY COMMITTEE, on a unanimous voice vote.

 

Communication from Dylan M. Zelazo, Director of Administration, to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council, informing them of a property sale agreement between the City of Pawtucket and Riverside Burial Society of Pawtucket (Morley Field).
