City Council, September 8, 2021

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 9:39 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Gregor, Mercer, Schuette, Vasquez and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor DaRosa.

 

(Councilor Timothy P. Rudd, Jr. resigns from the City Council after the Council meeting on August 25, 2021, due to relocating out of the city of Pawtucket).

 

President Moran presides.

 

The reading of the records of the August 25, 2021 City Council meeting is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Gregor, seconded by Councilors Mercer and Araujo, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The clerk is instructed to send a communication to Tina Goncalves, Chief of Police, regarding the automated license plate reading camera pilot program.  In her letter to the city council on this subject, she mentions providing the council with an update when the sixty-day trial period ends.  The council wants to know the following:

 

1.     When was the first day of the 60-day trial period?

2.     On what date will the 60 days end?

3.     When will the council receive the update?

 

 

COUNCILOR DAROSA ARRIVES IN THE CHAMBERS AT 9:44 P.M.

The clerk is instructed to send a communication to the Honorable Members of the Substance Abuse/Non-Violence Committee, requesting that the committee consider providing funds for a Narcan box to be placed at the Payne Park A&S Store. Councilor DaRosa stated that she spoke to Diane Dufresne, who stated that it should cost about $400.
