City Council, February 24, 2021
A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 7:56 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s Executive Orders up to and including 21-10. 
Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Amponsah, Araujo, DaRosa, Mercer, Rudd, Schuette, Vasquez and Wildenhain.
Absent – 0.
President Moran presides.
The reading of the records of the February 10, 2021 City Council meeting and Committee on Claims and Pending Suits meeting is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk, on a roll call vote, as follows:
AYES – President Moran, Councilors Amponsah, Araujo, DaRosa, Mercer, Rudd, Schuette, Vasquez and Wildenhain.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Tina Goncalves, Chief of Police, requesting that a speed tower be placed on Pleasant Street, between James Street and Tower Street (Closer to Tower St.), heading towards the Varieur School. Councilor Araujo has received complaints about people coming onto Pleasant Street at James Street and picking up speed as they approach Tower St.
Communication from John S. Wallace, Secretary/Treasurer, Pawtucket Firefighters Local 1261, submitting the following reappointment as the Retired Member of the Pawtucket Fire Department on the Pension Board, FOR CONFIRMATION:
Ret. Captain Kenneth Noiseux. Term expires the first Monday in January, 2023 is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
The following nomination submitted by Pawtucket Firefighters Local 1261 for confirmation is CONFIRMED on a roll call vote, as follows:
