A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 7:22 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s Executive Orders up to and including 21-10.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Tina Goncalves, Chief of Police and Acting Public Safety Director, inviting her to attend a pre-council session of the City Council on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 to provide an update on the general operations of the Police Department for the past 12 months.  This is light of a proposed amendment to the ordinance that calls for the police chief to make a report to the City Council each September.  The amendment would move the report from September to February. 

 

The Council, while understanding that there is litigation in progress, questions why they cannot get the number of police officers who are Pawtucket residents, even without any specific information on addresses.
