City Council, November 24, 2020

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 9:12 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s Executive Orders up to and including 20-93.

 

Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Rudd.

 

President Moran presides.

 

The reading of the records of the November 10, 2020 City Council meeting and Committee on Claims and Pending Suits meeting is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk, on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

NOES – 0.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Barry, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED on a roll call vote, as follows:

588      RESOLUTION RELATING TO STATE ASSISTANCE DURING THE COVID 19 EMERGENCY

 

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER.

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, on behalf of Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilors Vitali and Vasquez, is PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

NOES – 0.

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Dylan Zelazo, Director of Administration, requesting that the administration consider limiting the use of school zone speeding cameras to 3:00 p.m. each day, rather than 6:00 p.m., considering that there are no after-school programs being held in the city during this pandemic. 

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by the entire City Council, the meeting is adjourned at 9:26 p.m., in memory of Kristen McGill, wife of City Registrar Kenneth McGill.
