A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 5:15 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s order 20-25.

 

Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Kallman and Rudd.

 

President Moran presides.

THE COUNCIL TAKES UP THE FOLLOWING:

 

AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 76 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, 1996, ENTITLED “REAL PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS” (Length of Lease) Video

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Mercer, the following amendment to the above entitled ordinance, is introduced, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

Amend the following:

 

Notwithstanding the provisions of §76-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Pawtucket, the City Council hereby authorizes the City of Pawtucket to enter into a lease agreement, with extensions, for a period of time that exceeds 10 years for the following properties associated with the Tidewater Landing Development Project:…

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Mercer, the following amendment is APPROVED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

NOES – 0.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR BARRY.

 

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Barry, seconded by Councilors Mercer and Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Joel Votolato, Esq., requesting that he review the proposed Ground Lease Option Agreement between the City and Fortuitous Partners, LLC, for properties at 45 Division Street and Tidewater.
