City Council, May 22, 2020

 

 

A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Friday, May 22, 2020, at 12:01 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s order 20-25.

 

Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Kallman and Rudd.

 

President Moran presides.

 

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Vitali, the agenda is amended to include the following Ordinance, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 76 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, 1996, ENTITLED “REAL PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS” (Length of Lease)

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Vitali, the following Ordinance is LAID ON THE TABLE AND REFERRED TO THE ORDINANCE AND CITY PROPERTY COMMITTEES, on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

THE COUNCIL TAKES UP THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:

 

RESOLUTION AMENDING THE AUTHORIZATION FOR TEMPORARY OUTDOOR RESTAURANT SEATING.

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN:

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Mercer, the following amendment to the above entitled resolution is introduced, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

Add the following:

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE SHALL NOT ACCEPT ANY APPLICATIONS FOR A PERMANENT EXPANSION OF PREMISES FOR CLASS BV LICENSE HOLDERS UNTIL OCTOBER 1, 2020.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Mercer, the following amendment is read and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

Add the following:

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE SHALL NOT ACCEPT ANY APPLICATIONS FOR A PERMANENT EXPANSION OF PREMISES FOR CLASS BV LICENSE HOLDERS UNTIL OCTOBER 1, 2020.

2.         OUTDOOR ALCOHOL SERVICE MAY BE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 12:00 NOON 11:00 A.M. AND 11:00 P.M., WITH LAST CALL AT 10:30 P.M.
