A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 6:03 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s order 20-25.

 

Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER:

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Kallman, Rudd and Vitali, the following amendment, recommended by the Ordinance Committee is introduced, on a unanimous voice vote:

 

Amend the following:

 

1.     OUTDOOR FOOD SERVICE MAY BE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 10:00 P.M.

2.     OUTDOOR ALCOHOL SERVICE MAY BE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4:00 P.M. AND 10:00 P.M., WITH LAST CALL AT 9:30 P.M.

 

SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30. 2020.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Kallman, Rudd and Vitali, the following amendment is read and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Kallman, seconded by Councilors Araujo and  Barry, is PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

The Clerk is requested to contact the department of public works and the police department regarding parking on the wrong side of Waltham Street and on the sidewalk.  The council would like DPW to check the “No Parking” signage on Waltham Street to ensure it is sufficient and for the police department to enforce the parking restrictions on the street.
