City Council, June 29, 2020
A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, June 29, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., via videoconference on ZOOM during the COVID-19 pandemic, per Governor’s order 20-25 and 2-46.
Present on ZOOM – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Kallman.
President Moran presides.
THE COUNCIL RECESSES IMMEDIATELY TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE FOLLOWING:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A 20-YEAR TAX STABILIZATION AGREEMENT FOR PEYSER REAL ESTATE GROUP FOR THE PROPERTY AT 71 DEXTER STREET AND A VACANT LOT ON BEATTY STREET (AP44 L 532 AND 509)
THE COUNCIL RECONVENES AT 6:08 P.M.
Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Barry, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED on a roll call vote, as follows:

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF PLAT 44, LOT 532, LOCATED ON BEATTY STREET IN THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET TO PEYSER REAL ESTATE GROUP
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on roll call vote, as follows:
AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Rudd, Vasquez, Vitali and Wildenhain.
NOES – 0.
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to School Superintendent Cheryl McWilliams to ask what the school department is planning to save taxpayer dollars to offset the increased costs needed for safety issues caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. For example, they talked about going after State and Federal reimbursements for COVID related costs. They asked about the school department’s financial plan going forward.

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PAY PLAN FOR THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET FOR UNIFORM MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN §88-12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, 1996 (July 1, 2020- June 30, 2023).
Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Barry and Vitali, the meeting is adjourned at 6:16 p.m., in memory of Patty O’Hara.
