A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 5:09 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Tetreault, Vitali, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilors Kallman and Rudd.
President Moran presides.
591 Communication from Council President David P. Moran, calling a Special Session of the City Council on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 5:00 p.m., is READ AND ORDERED FILED.
The following ordinance is read for the SECOND time and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:
AYES – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Mercer, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.
NOES – 0.
330 AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 410 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, ENTITLED “ZONING” CHANGE IN OFFICIAL ZONING MAP (Change of Zone from MB to CD for the following properties: 349 Barton Street – AP44 L601; 195 Weeden Street – AP44 L433; 173 Weeden Street AP44 l581; 181 Conant Street (Fram Alley) AP44 l612)
Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilors Vitali and Barry, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED on a unanimous voice vote.
*CONSENT AGENDA:
AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTERS 1810, 1845, 1853, 1899, 1933, 2007, 2037, 2114, 2262, 2496,2511, 2547 AND 2864 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 15 TO THE PAWTUCKET REDEVELOPMENT PLAN, ENTITLED THE “DOWNTOWN GATEWAY PROJECT” – IS LAID ON THE TABLE AND REFERRED TO THE FINANCE AND ORDINANCE COMMITTEES.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MERCER.
With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., City Solicitor, requesting his opinion on the letter from Angelo Calcagni, Waste Connections, regarding rodent abatement at the transfer station that was on the Council’s September 19, 2018 agenda. The Council is asking for an opinion if it’s appropriate for the city to accept the liability as noted in the 3rd paragraph of the letter.
The Clerk is further instructed to place Mr. Calcagni’s letter on the agenda again for the October 10, 2018 Council meeting.
Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Council Barry, the meeting is adjourned at 5:13 p.m.
