City Council, December 17, 2018

 

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Monday, December 17, 2018, at 5:35 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Araujo, Barry, Kallman, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault, Vitali, and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – 0.

 

President Pro-Tempore Mercer presides.

 

The reading of the records of the November 29, 2018 Substance Abuse/DARE Fund Committee, and the reading of the records of the December 5, 2019 City Council, Claims and Pending Suits Committee, City Property Committee and Ordinance Committee meetings are dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Mercer, on behalf of Council President Moran, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Mayor Donald R. Grebien, requesting that beginning with the new year, the Council be made aware ahead of time of all studies on all topics to be done.

 

In addition, regarding the Camoin study on Hasbro, the Council is seeking the following information:

1.     When was this study first decided to be done?

2.     How much did it cost to do the study?

3.     Who paid for the study and where did the money come from?

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Michael Burns, Traffic Engineer regarding speeding on the Moshassuck Valley Industrial Highway. The Council is seeking another copy of the traffic study and any recommendations Mr. Burns may have to slow down traffic on the highway.
