City Council, October 17, 2017

 

 

A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 6:36 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Cano, Kallman, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Barry.

 

President Moran presides.

 

 

591   Communication from Council President, David P. Moran, calling a Special Session of the City Council on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 5:45 p.m. is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Vitali, the agenda is amended to include the following communications on a unanimous voice vote:

 

028   Communication from Linda Dewing, to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council.  (Support of the PawSox Ballpark at Slater Mill)

 

028   Communication from Rick Roth, President, Mirror Image, Inc., to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council.  (Support of the PawSox staying in Pawtucket)

 

028   Communication from Grow Smart RI to the Honorable Members of the Pawtucket City Council.  (Support of the Downtown Stadium for the PawSox)

 

028   Communication from James Hoyt, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, to David P. Moran, President, Pawtucket City Council.  (Support of PawSox Ballpark at Slater Mill)

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Vitali, the following communications are READ AND ORDERED FILED:

The following resolution is read and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Moran, Councilors Cano, Mercer, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

NOES – Councilors Kallman and Rudd.

 

Councilor Wildenhain states for the record that Councilor Barry, who was unable to attend the meeting, asked him to report that if Councilor Barry was present, he would vote for this resolution.

 

588   RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF AND URGING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO KEEP THE PAWTUCKET RED SOX IN PAWTUCKET.

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Mercer, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the meeting is adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
