A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 7:48 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

Present – President Pro-Tempore Mercer, Councilors Barry, Cano, Kallman, Rudd, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain

Absent – President Moran.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Gerard A. Charbonneau, Chair, Pawtucket School Committee, and Patti Dicenso, Superintendent of Schools, requesting answers to the following questions regarding the problem of some students not getting a hot lunch at school. The council wants to know:

1. When did they first realize there was an issue with the school lunch program and what was done at that time to resolve the problem?

2. What is the plan for September to ensure the problems are solved? Will the school department be using CEP to help resolve the problems?

3. The council is requesting to be notified when the new school lunch plan and/or policy is in place.

4. The council is requesting a copy of the plan and/or policy when it is finalized.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Tina Goncalves, Acting Police Chief, requesting that she move the officers working with radar from Smithfield Avenue over to Power Road, between Weeden Street and Mineral Spring Avenue, for a period of 30 days, to check for speeding. The council is requesting a report after the 30 days stating how often the officers worked Power Road and the results of the radar patrols.

The following resolution is taken up:

RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING ALL DEVELOPMENT AROUND THE NEW TRAIN STATION TO TRULY FOSTER THE CREATION OF AN ECONOMICALLY-DIVERSE LIVING COMMUNITY.

Upon motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Barry, the following resolution is POSTPONED UNTIL AUGUST 9, 2017, on a unanimous voice vote:
