City Council, November 22, 2016

 

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 8:25 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Barry, Bray, Cano, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault and Wildenhain

 

Absent – 0.

 

President Moran presides.

 

 

The reading of the records of November 9, 2016 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Tetreault, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Hodge, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Paul King, Chief of Police, requesting an update, including how many tickets have been issued, on the enforcement of speeding on Power Road, which was requested at the October 5, 2016 meeting.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Dylan Zelazo, Chief of Staff, requesting that he inform the Council of the date of the GPS Pilot Program meeting in December.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Paul King, Chief of Police, requesting that the police enforce the weight limit on tractor-trailer trucks traveling on Armistice Boulevard going into Seekonk.

G.    Tentative Agreement between the Pawtucket School Committee and R.I. Council 94 AFSCME, AFL-CIO on Behalf of the Pawtucket School Department Employees, Local 1352 is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND REFERRED TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE.

Amend the following:

 

A.                Parking on Private Residential Property

 

(1)               Notwithstanding the provisions of § 410-77A(3) or any other ordinances of the City to the contrary, when a parking ban is called due to a weather emergency, all legal residents of a residential property may, upon receipt of permission from the residential property owner, park on nonpaved areas of the premises during the parking ban and up to 48 24  hours after the parking ban is lifted.
