A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, February 24 2016, at 7:56 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Barry, Bray, Hodge, Mercer, Rudd, Tetreault and Wildenhain.

 

Absent –Councilor Cano.

 

President Moran presides.

 

 

THE CITY COUNCIL RECESSES IMMEDIATELY TO CONVENE AS THE BOARD OF LICENSES COMMISSIONERS.

UPON UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF THE COUNCIL, THE COUNCIL TAKES UP THE FOLLOWING:

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, on behalf of Council President Moran, seconded by Councilors Mercer and Rudd, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Mayor Donald R. Grebien, requesting, in light of all the pay plan ordinances before the Council, if the City has more or less filled positions now than when Mayor Grebien started as mayor in 2011.  The Council is requesting the following information:

 

1.                  Since 2011, excluding police, fire and employees affected by privatization, how many positions have been added to the city?  Please include job titles and salaries.

 

 

2.                  Since 2011, excluding police, fire and employees affected by privatization, how many positions have been eliminated in the city?  Please include job titles and salaries.

 

 

3.                  Subtracting the eliminated positions from added positions, how many more or fewer employees are there today and how much more or less is being paid in salary today than when Mayor Grebien first became mayor.

Upon motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the Clerk is instructed to send a summons to Consumer Auto Sales, 610 Weeden Street, for an informal hearing to be held at the Board of Licenses Commission meeting on the March 9, 2016, in light of the recent police report (#16-1042-OF) regarding unregistered vehicles parked on the sidewalks; engine and vehicle parts on the property; as well as, the number of vehicles leaking oil and fluids.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Dylan Zelazo, Chief of Staff, requesting that DPW fix a sign post at the entrance of the Mineral Spring Avenue Cemetery, which appears to have been hit by a vehicle.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Mercer, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Frederick Love, chairperson to the Historic District Commission inviting him to the next ordinance committee meeting to discuss what types and amount of improvements may be made to the outside of a house before it loses its eligibility to be part of a historic district.
