City Council, December 10, 2014

 

 

A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 7:12 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Moran, Councilors Barry, Hodge, Rudd, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilors Barros and Mercer.

 

President Moran presides.

 

 

The reading of the records of November 17, 2014 and December 3, 2014 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

 

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Tetreault, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Rudd, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Paul King, Chief of Police, requesting that the police department do regular checks at La Vaca Flaca, 189 Broad Street, on Thursday through Saturday evenings, to check for overcrowding and other problems at the establishment.  A report on their findings is requested in time for the city council meeting on January 21, 2014.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Barry, seconded by Councilors Hodge and Vitali, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Joanna L’Heureux, Finance Director, requesting that she contact the Auditor General to seek an extension of time on the delivery of the city audit to the Auditor General’s office until January 15, 2015.  This will allow the Council to formally accept the audit at their meeting on January 7, 2015, and get answers to questions before it must be delivered to the Auditor General.

 

 

614	H.    Communication from Lance Hill, PE, Director of Public Works, to the Pawtucket City Council.  (Response – FY2015 Recycling Figures) is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

 

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR WILDENHAIN.

 

With majority consent of Council, the following motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilors Barry and Rudd, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:

 

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Lance Hill, PE, Director of Public Works, requesting how much added revenue the city has or will receive from RI Resource Recovery Corporation or elsewhere because of the city’s increased recycling tonnage.

 

 

609   Communication from Daryl Crossman, Manager Rights of Way, Verizon, to Richard J. Goldstein, MMC, City Clerk, request to relocate joint pole 2S on Cherry Street, is READ AND ORDERED FILED AND IS APPROVED PENDING THE APPROVAL OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Joanna L’Heureux, Finance Director, requesting that she send them a letter each month, in time for the first meeting of the month, to notify the council if Waste Haulers had paid their monthly fee to the city and any other fees due to the city.
