A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 12:16 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – President Moran, Councilors Barros, Barry, Hodge, Mercer, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Rudd.
President Moran presides.
The reading of the records of July 10, 2013 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, on behalf of Council President Moran, seconded by Councilor Barry, the agenda is amended to include the following communication, on a unanimous voice vote:
Communication from David P. Moran, President, Pawtucket City Council, to Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., City Solicitor, requesting a legal opinion concerning the recent hiring of a second Director of Constituent Services.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Chairman Alan Tenreiro, Pawtucket School Committee, requesting that the school department look into creating a drop off area on the grounds of the Nathanael Greene Elementary School to eliminate the need for an on-street drop off, which is a significant safety concern.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Wildenhain, seconded by Councilor Vitali, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Lance A. Hill, Director of Public Works, and Michael E. Burns, Traffic Engineering Supervisor, requesting their opinion regarding renaming that portion of Woodbine Street from Kenyon Avenue to the dead end as East Woodbine Street.
