City Council, February 22, 2012
A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 7:09 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present - President Moran, Councilors Barros, Barry, Hodge, O’Neill, Tetreault, Vitali and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Chadwick.
President Moran presides.
The reading of the records of February 8, 2012 is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Mayor Donald R. Grebien requesting that he contact the engineering school at the University of Rhode Island to ask them to look into the condition of the Division Street Bridge and determine what the final cost will be to repair the bridge, once it is no more being used as a detour for the bridge #550 project.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., City Solicitor, requesting that he prepare a comparison of outside legal fees for labor issues in 2011 compared to 2010, to show how much was actually saved by handling much of the labor legal work in-house.
Petition for Game Room by Dave Sabatini d/b/a Sabs Game Room, 502 Armistice Boulevard, Tax Assessors Plat 18 Lot 855, LIC#7882 which was advertised for a hearing at this time, is taken up:
Speaking in favor is Dave Sabatini, 41 Hatfield Street, Pawtucket, RI, applicant.
Mr. Sabatini states that he will have video games, x-box, pool tables and other games.
He states he will open at 2:00 p.m., when kids get out of school and the game room will be for people 18 and under.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Frank J. Milos, Jr., Esq., City Solicitor, regarding setting up a meeting to discuss the upcoming school department collective bargaining negotiations. Councilor Hodge is requesting an opinion on whether the council may legally be involved in the discussions, and if so, are there any issues that the council should avoid.
COUNCIL PRESIDENT MORAN APPOINTS COUNCILOR TETREAULT TO SERVE AS AN ALTERNATE SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBER TO SERVE ALONG WITH COUNCILOR BARRY, WHO IS ALREADY A MEMBER.
