City Council, July 5, 2006
A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – President Grebien, Councilors Barry, Bray, Carr, Clemente, Hodge, Vitali, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilor Moran.
President Grebien presides.
The reading of the records of June 21, 2006, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.
Upon motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Vitali, the *Consent Agenda is APPROVED, on a unanimous voice vote.

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Clemente, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Michael D. Cassidy, Director of Planning and Redevelopment requesting if the leasing of City-Owned Land in the Moshassuck Valley Area, AP52A, Lot 852 and AP57B, Lot 529, by Northeast Tree Recycling would effect future development in that area, and also be prepared to answer questions regarding this matter for the next City Property Committee meeting.

With majority consent of the council, the following motion made by Councilor Clemente, seconded by Councilor Barry, is PASSED on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Michael D. Cassidy, Director of Planning and Redevelopment concerning the zoning permit application regarding the Pawtucket Transfer Operations for 280 Pine Street. The Council is requesting information on the following:
1. Is it true that the City of Pawtucket lost the Superior Court Case regarding this matter?
2. When were you informed of this ruling?
3. Why has the Council not been informed?
4. What is the plan for the appeal process?
Also the Council is requesting a immediate response be sent to them at their individual home addresses and a copy sent to the City Clerk’s Office in time for the July 19, 2006, Council meeting.
UPON RECOMMENDATION OF THE ORDINANCE COMMITTEE THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE IS LAID ON THE TABLE AND A PUBLIC HEARING IS SET FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2006:

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Michael D. Cassidy, Director of Planning and Redevelopment and John E. Carney, Director of Public Works requesting a status report regarding the parking lot behind RI Textile to be used for the McKinnon/Alves Soccer Complex and also a specific time frame when this project is to be completed. A response is requested in time for the July 19, 2006, Council meeting.
