City Council, June 2, 2004

 

A special session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 6:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. 

 

Present – President Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Moran and Wildenhain.

 

Absent – Councilor Hoyas.

 

President Barry presides.

 

THE COUNCIL RECESSES IMMEDIATELY TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE AMENDMENTS TO THE MUNICIPAL BUDGET.

 

THE COUNCIL RECONVENES AT 6:01 P.M.

 

591      Communication from Council President, John J. Barry, III, calling a Special Session   of the City Council on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 6:00 p.m., is READ AND ORDERED FILED.

 

COUNCILOR HOYAS ARRIVES AT 6:10 P.M.

 

The following resolution is read and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

 

AYES – President Barry, Councilors Bray, Carr, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, Hoyas, Moran, and Wildenhain.

588      RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET TO PROVIDE FOR THE RESTORATION AND IMPROVEMENTS TO CITY HALL AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING THEREOF, INCLUDING THE ISSUE OF NOT MORE THAN $3,000,000 BONDS AND NOTES THEREFOR, TO FUND THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE TWO FISCAL YEARS 2005 AND 2006.

 

The following ordinance is read for the second time and PASSED on a roll call vote, as follows:

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR MORAN.

 

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Moran introduces the following communication:

 

Communication from Gerald F. Quinn, Chairman, City Planning Commission, to the Honorable Members of the City Council.  (Amendments to the Capital Improvement Program 2005-2009)

 

Upon motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Wildenhain, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED:

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Moran introduces the following amendment:

 

Amend the schedule to the Capital Improvement Program Ordinance 2005-2009, to add City Hall Building Restoration in the amount of $3,000,000, as follows:
