City Council, April 10, 2002
A regular session of the Pawtucket City Council is held Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at seven six o’clock p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Present – President Barry, Councilors Bray, Clemente, Grebien, Hodge, and Wildenhain.
Absent – Councilors Carr, Hoyas, and Moran.

Speaking in opposition is Detective Sergeant Tomlinson, Pawtucket Police Department.
Sergeant Tomlinson investigated Mr. Contreras for a charge of stolen autos, and discovered at the same time that Mr. Contreras was operating without a license since January of 2000, and also found numerous vehicles without Vin numbers.
Sergeant Tomlinson discusses Mr. Contreras police record, which involves a charge for possession of cocaine and a charge of deadly weapons and burglary offense in Nevada.
He strongly objects that a license be given to Mr. Contreras.
Sergeant Tomlinson also states that the Chief of Police strongly objects and has refused to sign the application.

First speaker is Ramon Lantigua, 135 ½ Whittier Street, Providence RI.
Councilor Bray states that the Police Chief did not sign the application and questions Mr. Lantigua if he spoke to Chief Kelley about the problem.
Mr. Lantigua states that he had his neighbors sign a petition.
Councilor Bray states that Mr. Lantigua needs to have a neighborhood meeting which has not happened at this time.
Mr. Lantigua stated that he will talk to Chief Kelley on Thursday and will set up a neighborhood meeting.
Mr. Lantigua’s hours of operation would be Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
He would occupy the side lot for parking only, no unregistered cars or repair work will be done in that lot.
Mr. Lantigua will be operating the business along with two other employees.
His last location was Raymond Auto Repair at 1063 Lonsdale Ave, in Central Falls.
Speaking in opposition is Rose Ginish, 45 Patterson Avenue, Pawtucket RI.
Ms. Ginish states that a tow truck brought two cars to 73 Patterson Avenue, one of the cars had a “For Sale” sign on it, and that there is a large amount of tires on the lot.
Councilor Bray asks if the tires are Mr. Lantigua.
Mr. Lantigua states yes.
