A regular session of the City Council is held Tuesday, November 10, 1998, at six forty-four o’clock p.m. All the members are present, except President Barry and Councilor Hodge; President Pro-Tempore Vieira presides.
The reading of the records of October 21, 1998, is dispensed with and the records are APPROVED as prepared by the Clerk.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Ronald F. Travers, Director of Zoning and Code Enforcement, regarding a continuing problem with advertisements on utility poles throughout the city. In particular, the utility poles on Newport Avenue, Weeden Street, Mineral Spring Avenue, and Smithfield Avenue, which are advertising “Lose Weight.”
The Council is requesting that he contact the representative of the businesses included in the advertisement, directing that the signs be removed, as well as imposing fines and issuing violations.
