City Council, July 23, 1997.
A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, July 23, 1997, at twelve eleven o'clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilors Moran and Rabbitt and President Barry presides.
The reading of the records of July 9, and 16, 1997, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
Upon motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Butler, the *Consent Agenda is approved on a unanimous voice vote.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Ronald Leitao, Acting Director of Public Works and William Mulholland, Director of Parks and Recreation, regarding next year=s summer job lottery. The Council wants them to put a system in place to verify the addresses of the lottery applications. They suggest that they look at the system the school department uses to screen their job applicants.
Also, the Council recommends that the lottery be held in public.
