A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, January 8, 1997, at nine o'clock p.m. All the members are present and President Barry presides.

Petitions for AUTO REPAIR SHOP LICENSE AND SECOND HAND SHOP LICENSE of Milton L. Ramos d/b/a Weeden Street Auto Repair, 540 Weeden Street, (front) Tax Assessor's Plat 48, Lot 256, to keep a shop for repairing automobiles and selling second hand automotive parts, which was advertised for a hearing at this time, is taken up:

Ms. Fonseca is the owner of the building. She evicted the last tenant because he was making the back into a junkyard. She will rent the back of the building for auto storage.
There will be auto repair work only at this shop.

Mr. Ramos states that he went to New England Tech.
Mr. Ramos does oil changes, tune-ups, brake work and front end work on the cars. He has been working on cars with his dad for years.

There will be no auto body work. He will have 3 - 4 cars on the lot, maximum.
The sign will be in the same location as now.

Councilor Butler noted that the residents would be satisfied with only 25 feet of guard rail along the road, so he is requesting that Mr. Mulholland get a second estimate on the cost of placing 25 feet of guard rail along Loring Parkway.
