City Council, February 21, 1996.
A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, February 21, 1996, at eight o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilor Rabbitt, and President Barry presides.
The reading of the records of February 7, 1996, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.
The Council recesses immediately to conduct the Pre-Council session followed by the meeting of the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners.
The Council reconvenes at 8:43 o’clock p.m.
Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Bray the *Consent Agenda is approved on a unanimous voice vote:

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Cute, seconded by Councilor Doyle, instructing the Clerk to send a letter to Mayor Robert E. Metivier, urging that he appoint a Director of Public Works and not continue with an "acting public works director" who has union status, is DEFEATED on a roll call vote, as follows:

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Ronald F. Travers, Director of Zoning and Code Enforcement, to thank him for his response on the request for information on three abandoned buildings which were damaged by fire.
The Council wanted to express their appreciation for the good job he did in providing this information, and they are asking that he keep them informed on the status of these three buildings.

The Clerk is instructed to request the owner of Macana Auto Repair, 539 Main Street to attend a Formal Hearing on Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at 8:00 p.m. regarding alleged violations of his auto repair shop license, as listed in the police report #96-06010.
