City Council, November 22, 1995
A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, November 22, 1995, at six two o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilor Demopulos and President Barry presides.
The reading of the records of November 8, 1995, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

Petition from the residents of the neighborhood from the Pawtucket/South Attleboro line to Cottage Street, to Chief of Police Richard E. DeLyon. (Request for increased police patrols and enforcement)

With majority consent of the Council, the following motion made by Councilor Moran, seconded by Councilor Kinder, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Richard E. DeLyon, Chief of Police, forwarding to him the petition from the residents of the neighborhood from the Pawtucket/South Attleboro line to Cottage Street, asking him for increased police patrols and enforcement in that neighborhood.
The Council would like to know what action he plans to take on this matter, and Councilor Moran would like a monthly report on all police activities in that area.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Michael Burns, Traffic Engineer, requesting that he place speed limit signs on Mendon Avenue, from Cottage Street to Roosevelt Avenue.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Richard E. DeLyon, Chief of Police, requesting radar patrols on Mendon Avenue, between Cottage Street and Roosevelt Avenue, because of several complaints he has received about speeding on that road.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Monique T. Renaud, Chair of Charter Review Commission, requesting that the Commission consider an amendment to the Charter which would require that the elections for municipal officials be held at the same time as the elections for state officials in even numbered years.
