City Council, August 31, 1995
A special session of the City Council is held on Thursday, August 31, 1995, at four thirty-eight p.m. All the Members are present except Councilors Hodge and Rabbitt; Council President Barry presides.
Waivers of the residency requirement for the School Department is taken up.
Dr. Emile M. Chevrette, Superintendent of Schools; and Joseph Haddad, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education, are present to discuss the requests for waivers for the following applicants:

With majority consent of the Council, Councilor Demopulos introduces the following communication:

Upon Motion made by Councilor Demopulos, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED:

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder to move into Executive Session at four fifty-six o’clock p.m. in Room 303, to discuss the Police and Fire Chiefs contracts, pursuant to R.I.G.L. Section 42-46-5, Subsection (2) pertaining to collective bargaining, is passed on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Barry, Councilors Bray, Demopulos, Doyle, Kinder, Moran, Rabbitt and Vieira.
Noes - 0.
The Council returns to open session at five forty-two O’clock p.m.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the minutes of the meeting held in executive session are sealed on a unanimous voice vote.
Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the meeting is adjourned at five forty-four O’clock p.m.
