City Council, August 23, 1995

A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, August 23, 1995, at twelve four o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilors Demopulos, Kinder, Moran and Rabbitt and President Barry presides.

THE COUNCIL RECESSES IMMEDIATELY TO CONVENE AS THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS.

THE COUNCIL RECONVENES AT 12:10 PM.

The reading of the records of August 9, 1995, is dispensed with and the records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Bray the *Consent Agenda is approved on a unanimous voice vote:

Upon Motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Vieira, the following communication is READ AND ORDERED FILED and the name change of the auto repair shop and second hand shop of "Stephen A. Farley & Michael J. Druan, Jr., d/b/a Rhode Island Custom Cycles," to "Rhode Island Custom Cycles, LLC" is GRANTED on a unanimous voice vote:

Upon Motion made by Councilor Doyle, seconded by Councilor Hodge, waivers of the residency requirement for employment at the School Department of the City of Pawtucket are GRANTED for the following on a voice vote:

Ms. Enid Negron, 935 Douglas Avenue, Providence, RI., to be a Spanish teacher at Tolman High School; and

Ms. Emma Catanzaro, 25 Talbut Road, Hope, RI., to be a Spanish teacher at Slater Junior High School.

Councilor Vieira votes "NO"

Approval of proposal for Actuarial Study of the Police and Fire Pension Plans is LAID ON THE TABLE on a unanimous voice vote.
