A regular session of the City Council is held Wednesday, May 11, 1994, at eight seventeen o’clock p.m. All the members are present and President Barry presides.
The reading of the Records of April 12, 1994, and April 20 1994, are dispensed with and the Records are approved as prepared by the Clerk.

Mr. Imondi states that he runs a used car operation and repair shop in North Providence. He has left that location because the landlord does not want a used car lot there anymore.

Mr. Imondi states that he has been in the auto business for 30 years.
Speaking in opposition is Richard W. Chatigni, 1093 Central Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Chatigni questions what the used articles will be. He is concerned about junk cars and junk parts. He states that the fence in back needs repairing.
Mr. Chatigni also states that parking congestion is a problem.
Mr. Imondi answers that there will be no junk cars, and he will not sell auto parts. He states that he will do whatever is necessary to stay in business. Further, he will have up to 15 cars on the lot.

Ms. Vasquez states for Mr. Villar that he is renting one of three garages at this location. His stall is the last one on the right. He has three cars now; the other cars belong to the other renters.
Ms. Vasquez states that he has been working at this location since he applied for the license.
Ms. Vasques states that he worked on cars in the Dominican Republic.
His hours will be 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Saturday.
There will be no painting of cars and no sales of cars, just repairing.
Speaking in opposition is Michael Jaycox, 58 Woodlawn Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Jaycox states that the lot is always jammed. There are parked cars in the lot across the street and on the street; also, there is painting going on.
Speaking in opposition is Lucie Lima, 56 Woodlawn Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Ms. Lima states that she owns the abutting property. The applicant uses her retaining wall as a stool & toolbench. They bring their kids who play on the lot. He painted a blue truck out in the open. There are parking problems and there are lots of junked cars. Work is conducted on the lot, outside. There is a litter problem, beer bottles, etc.
Ms. Lima also states that work is being done as late as 10:00 P.M, and she is afraid that property values will go down.
Speaking in opposition is George Audette, 15 Woodlawn Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
Mr. Audette states that he has been living at this location for 50 years. He states that this location is a junkyard and is open on Sundays. He states there were cars parked in the street and on other people’s property.
