City Council, March 16, 1994.
A special session of the City Council is held Wednesday, March 16, 1994, at five four o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber. All the Members are present President Barry presides.
The following Ordinance is taken up:
Ordinance Authorizing the City of Pawtucket to Issue Bonds and Notes in the Sum of Forty Million ($40,000,000) Dollars Providing for the Synchronization of the City of Pawtucket’s Tax and Fiscal Year.
Mayor Metivier reads a prepared statement, which is Read and Ordered Filed.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR HODGE.
With majority consent of the Council, upon Motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Demopulos, the following amendment to the ordinance entitled, "Ordinance Authorizing the City of Pawtucket to Issue Bonds and Notes in the Sum of Forty Million ($40,000,000) Dollars Providing for the Synchronization of the City of Pawtucket’s Tax and Fiscal Year," is passed on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Barry, Councilors Bray, Demopulos, Doyle, Hodge, Kinder, Moran, Rabbitt and Vieira.
Noes - 0
AMENDMENT -
Section One is amended by adding the following to the end of the sentence: "including the sum of Six Million ($6,000,000) Dollars for the purpose of retiring cumulative debt."
The following ordinance is read for the first time, AS AMENDED, and passed on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Barry, Councilors Bray, Demopulos, Hodge, Kinder, Moran, and Rabbitt.
Noes - 0
Noes - Councilors Doyle and Vieira.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the City Council goes into Executive Session at 6:45 p.m., pursuant to Rhode Island General Law 42–46–5 (2) Dealing with Pending Litigation.
THE COUNCIL RETURNS TO OPEN SESSION AT 7:17 PM.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Demopulos, the minutes of the Executive Session are sealed.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Demopulos, the Council instructs their Attorney, Scott Partington, to drop the proceedings on the Tomlinson Case and to continue the proceedings on the Prompt Payment Ordinance Case on a voice vote.
COUNCILOR HODGE VOTES NO TO THE CONTINUANCE OF THE PROMPT PAYMENT ORDINANCE CASE.
