City Council, January 3, 1994

 

The City Council-elect of the City of Pawtucket for 1994–1995 assembles Monday, January 3, 1994, at six forty-five o’clock p.m. at the Tolman High School Auditorium, Exchange Street, Pawtucket, RI, where the Inaugural Exercises are held.

Invocation is offered by Reverend Christopher M. Davenport, Assistant-St. Leo the Great Parish, Pawtucket, RI.

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America is led by Richard J. Goldstein, City Clerk.

The National anthem is sung by Laurence Dolan.

Address by His Excellency, Bruce G. Sundlun, Governor of the State of Rhode Island.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Bray, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the name of Councilor John J. Barry, III, is placed in nomination for City Council President.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Rabbitt, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the Nominations for City Council President are closed.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Doyle, seconded by Councilor Moran, the name of Councilor William D. Vieira, Sr., is placed in nomination for the City Council President Pro Tempore.

Upon Motion made by Councilor Hodge, seconded by Councilor Kinder, the Nominations for City Council President Pro Tempore are closed.

588      Upon Motion made by Councilor Demopulos, seconded by Councilor Hodge, the Rules of the City Council for 1994-1995 are adopted on a roll call vote, as follows:

Ayes - President Barry, Councilors Bray, Demopulos, Doyle, Hodge, Kinder, Moran, Rabbitt, and Vieira.

Noes - 0

Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Doyle, the meeting is adjourned at six fifty-five o’clock p.m.
