City Council, April 14, 1992.
A Special Session of the City Council is held Tuesday, April 14, 1992, at five eleven o’clock p.m., in the City Council Chamber. All the members are present except Councilors Calista, Clement and Rabbitt, and President Barry presides.

ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 2174 OF THE ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIXING THE SALARIES OF THE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS AND OTHER OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET AND REPEALING CHAPTER 2145." (Acting City Solicitor)

THE COUNCIL DISCUSSES THE 1991-1992 ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.

With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Jack Rahill, Director of Finance, requesting that he have an ordinance prepared which sets a maximum levy which includes a $1.65 residential property tax increase.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILOR VIEIRA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder, is passed on a unanimous voice vote:
The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Jack Rahill, Director of Finance, requesting that he determine the auto tax rate based on the following:
1. In order to off-set the decrease in auto valuations this year, increase the auto tax rate so that the revenues collected this year will equal the revenues collected last year.
2. Increase the auto tax rate again at a percentage equal to the percentage increase of the personal property tax increase of $1.65
Upon Motion made by Councilor Vieira, seconded by Councilor Kinder the meeting is adjourned at six twenty four o’clock p.m.
