The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Roger F. Giraud, Director of Planning and Development, regarding monies allocated for Slater Park. Specifically, if the monies mentioned were approved, allocated, and spent in the years in which they are listed; or is this money to be used as part of the $750,000 in the new Master Plan.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Christine N. Tague, Finance Director, asking if the City is planning to lease purchase a rescue truck in the near future. Both Councilman Kinder and President Houle are under the impression that this is the case.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Roger F. giraud, Director of Planning and Development, requesting a quarterly report on all zoning matters handled by Mr. Sahagian. Specifically, the number of zoning cases each quarter, the status of these cases, the money spent to prosecute them, and the revenues generated to the city by them.

Reed, in her capacity as Director of the Pawtucket Public Library, to act as the authorized representative of the City for the purpose of applying for Grant money for the purpose of providing literacy programs for non-English speaking or limited English speaking adults.

(b) Upon application by any holder of a license issued pursuant to this ordinance to the City Council, and upon a showing of public convenience and necessity, after a Public Hearing before the City Council, after having given notice by publication once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks in a daily newspaper of local circulation, the Council may grant the application for Additional Operational Hours between two o’clock (2:00) a.m. and six o’clock (6:00) a.m. The cost of said notice shall be paid by the applicant.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to John W. Tomlinson, Chief of Police, regarding the case of Miss Dolores Lavergne. Miss Lavergne’s case revolves around $65.00 which was being held as evidence by the Pawtucket Police Department. When Miss Lavergne went to claim the money, it was missing.
Councilman Lynch would like a report on what happened to this money.

The Clerk is instructed to send a communication to Roger F. Giraud, Director of Planning and Development; Claudine Schneider, Representative in Congress; Ronald Machtley, Representative in Congress; Claiborne Pell, United States Senate; John F. Reed, Representative-Elect; John Chafee, United States Senate; Paul Sams, Executive Director, Blackstone Valley District Commission, asking if there are any programs or funding sources available for sewer system improvements which could be tapped by the City of Pawtucket. The request comes in light of a problem where there were sewer back-ups in many homes in the City during a heavy rain storm, which was caused mainly by old pipes that are not adequate to handle the load. It has been estimated that it will cost Fifty Million Dollars to replace all these old pipes and the City needs help with funding.
A response to this letter is requested in time for the Council meeting on November 21, 1990.

Giraud, Director of Planning and Development, requesting that he have the land between Columbus Avenue and Division Street, on the Industrial Highway, surveyed to determine which parcels are owned by the City. Also requested is that someone be sent out to physically check these parcels to see who is using them, for what purpose are they being used, and under whose authority are they being use.
Upon Motion made by Councilman Barry, seconded by Councilman Kinder, the meeting is adjourned at nine fifty o’clock p.m.
