City Council, June 4, 1990.
A special session of the City Council is held Monday, June 4, 1990, at five six o’clock p.m. All the members are present except Councilman Robert Lynch and Rabbitt; President Houle presides.
The following Resolution is taken up:
Resolution supporting legislation to allow the location of a teletheater for off-track betting in the City of Pawtucket and to permit a referendum to be voted on by the voters of the City of Pawtucket.
THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILMAN CALISTA.
With majority consent of the Council, the following Motion by Councilman Calista and seconded by Councilman William Lynch to Lay on the Table the following resolution, is DEFEATED on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - Councilmembers Calista, Doyle, and William Lynch. Noes - President Houle, Councilmembers Barry, Kinder, and Vieira.

THE CHAIR RECOGNIZES COUNCILMAN CALISTA.
With majority consent of the Council, Councilman Calista requests that the Resolution supporting legislation to allow the location of a teletheater for off-track betting in the City of Pawtucket and to permit a referendum to be voted on by the voters of the City of Pawtucket, be Amended to Delete Paragraph Five, which reads: "WHEREAS, the Pawtucket City Council supports the concept of off-track wagering with its attendant economic benefit to the taxpayers and residents of the city."
Upon Motion made by Councilman Calista, seconded by Councilman Barry, Paragraph Five in the proposed Resolution supporting legislation to allow the location of a teletheater for off-track betting in the City of Pawtucket and to permit a referendum to be voted on by the voters of the City of Pawtucket, is deleted on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - Councilmembers Barry, Calista, Doyle, Kinder, William Lynch.
Noes - President Houle and Councilman Vieira.
Upon Motion made by Councilman Barry, seconded by Councilman Kinder, the following Resolution is Read and Passed AS AMENDED, on a roll call vote, as follows:
Ayes - President Houle, Councilmembers Barry, Calista, Doyle, Kinder, and Vieira.
Noes - 0.
Abstain - Councilman William Lynch.
