City Council, January 1, 1990.

The City Council-elect of the City of Pawtucket for 1990--1991, assembles Monday, January 1, 1990, at four ten o’clock p.m. at Tolman High School Auditorium, Exchange Street, where the Inaugural Exercises are held.

The Inaugural Exercises are opened by Louis J. Martin, Chairman of the Democratic City Committee.

Invocation is offered by Rev. Fernando P. Freitas, Pastor of St. Anthony’s Church, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Pledge of Allegiance of the Flag of the United States of America is led by Councilman-elect Raymond W. Houle, Jr.

The National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, is sung by soloist Mrs. Anne Quinn.

The Honorable Kathleen S. Connell, Secretary of State, reads the certificate of election of Mayor-elect Brian J. Sarault.

The Oath of Office is administered to Mayor-elect Brian J. Sarault by the Honorable Kathleen S. Connell.

Address by The Honorable United States Senator, Claiborne Pell.

Upon Motion made by Councilman Calista, seconded by Councilman Rabbitt, the following member of the City Council is elected President of the City Council, on a roll call vote, as follows:

Ayes - Councilmembers Barry, Calista, Doyle, Houle, Kinder, Robert Lynch, William Lynch, Rabbitt and Vieira.

Noes - 0.

COUNCILMAN RAYMOND W. HOULE, JR., IS ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL.

Upon Motion made by Councilman Kinder, seconded by Councilmen Robert Lynch and Vieira, the following member of the City Council is elected President Pro Tempore of the City Council, on a roll call vote, as follows:

Ayes - President Houle, Councilmembers Barry, Calista, Doyle, Kinder, Robert Lynch, William Lynch, Rabbitt and Vieira.

Noes - 0.

COUNCILMAN JOHN J. BARRY, III, IS ELECTED PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE OF THE CITY COUNCIL.

The following Resolution is read and passed on a roll call vote, as follows:

Ayes - President Houle, Councilmembers Barry, Calista, Doyle, Kinder, Robert Lynch, William Lynch, Rabbitt and Vieira.

Noes - 0.

Upon Motion made by Councilman William Lynch, seconded by Councilman Calista, the meeting is adjourned at four fifty-two o’clock p.m.
