MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

WORKSHOP RE: BUDGET OVERVIEW

GENERAL FUND REVENUES, CAPITAL PROJECTS, PERSONNEL CHANGES,  CIVIC SUPPORT, CITY MANAGER AND GENERAL GOVERNMENT

 

The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a workshop held on  April 21, 2025, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840.

 

            The following members were present:

Also present were Colin Kennedy, City Manager, Michael Caruolo, Deputy City Manager, Elizabeth Sceppa, Budget and Finance Analyst and Christopher J. Behan, Esq., City Solicitor.  The workshop commenced at 5:30 p.m.  Jim Nolan, Finance Director, addressed the Council to provide a presentation regarding the total budget overview.  Discussion occurred among the Council members, Director Nolan and City Manager Kennedy. 

 

Carmela Geer, Rebecca Gomez, Chris Gross, Kathy McGrath addressed the Council regarding Civic Support.
