MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

WORKSHOP RE: UTILITY BILLING

The following items of business, filed with the City Clerk under the Rules of the Council, came before the Council at a workshop held on  September 18, 2024, at 11:00  a.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840.

 

The DEPUTY CITY CLERK called the Roll and the following members were present:

MAYOR KHAMSYVORAVONG opened the workshop.    Discussion occurred among the Council.  Members from the public addressed the Council.  City Manager Kennedy addressed the Council. Director of Utilities Robert Schultz addressed the Council.  Discussion centered around scheduling a special Council meeting within the next week to propose rescinding the sewer tax rate and reinstating the rate prior to July 1.
