Pursuant to

Rhode Island General Laws, Section 42-46-1, as amended,  

and in accordance with Section 42-46-5

Purposes for Which Meeting May be Closed,

“(a) (2) Sessions pertaining to collective bargaining or litigation,…

and

(a)(7) A matter related to the question of investment of public funds where the premature disclosure would adversely affect the public interest”

 

the Newport City Council and Newport School Committee will meet in Joint Executive Session

in the Conference Room, 2^nd Floor or the Council Chamber, City Hall. 

 

The Council, prior to meeting in Executive Session, will meet in Open Session and, by open call by an affirmative vote of a majority of its members, vote to convene the meeting in a closed session at

 

5:30 p.m.

The City Council and School Committee will discuss in Joint Executive Session issues relating to the potential regionalization with the Town of Middletown
