STUDENT SERVICES MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Appropriate Rhode Island Special Education Certification
2. Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level.
3. Support a vision that reflects an ALL STUDENTS classroom program.
4. Knowledge of curriculum, standards and performance assessments.
5. Support the implementation of the educational reform initiatives at the high school level.
6. Demonstrates knowledge of Federal and State Regulations governing the Individuals Disabilities Education Act.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Screening Committee or Superintendent may find appropriate.
8. Demonstrated ability in using technology to support teaching & learning.
9. Demonstrated ability with planning, coordinating & validating instructional innovation efforts.
10. Ability to use data to support the school-wide reform efforts.
11. Ability to work with colleagues, parents, students, & administrators.
12. Demonstrate exemplary oral & written communication & listening skills.
13. Strong interpersonal skills.
14. Positive attitude.
15. Successful interview.
WORK YEAR:
1. Based upon 190 day personnel (Department Head/Grade Leader).
2. Shall be assigned to teach no more than 60% of the assigned teaching load of regular teachers.
SALARY RANGE:
1. As per contract (Department Head/Grade Leader)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
1. Reports to Principal/Associate Principal and Special Education Administrator (liaison).
2. Member of RtI steering committee – assists with coordination and implementation of RtI efforts.
3. Provides support for the RtI process, including but not limited to the support for all teachers to have a Tier One RtI Classroom, and the use of data and the data management for RtI.
4. Attends ETM meetings and shares information with staff.
5. Assists Associate Principal (or designee) with assignment of Case Manager for each student with an IEP.
6. Participates in building-based problem solving of any special education concerns.
7. Analyzes and reports on student classroom, local and state data.
8. Attends appropriate professional development/in-service workshops and shares information with staff.
9. Provides a continuum of supports for staff and students, including but not limited to co-teaching, intervention plans, progress monitoring, and modifying assessments. Provide professional development for staff in this continuum of supports.
10. Work with administrators, guidance and staff to coordinate dropout prevention programs.
11. Assists students with transitions from middle to high school and high school to adult life transition.
12. Work with administration and staff to reduce failure rate, focusing on grade nine.
13. Provides support for student 504 plans.
14. Provides support for student Personal Literacy Plans.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
· Masters degree preferred
· Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
