District/School Administrative Support Personnel
DISTRICT/SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT PERSONNEL
JOB GOAL:
Assure the smooth and efficient operations of the district/school office, including guidance and administration, so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized. Provide administrative and secretarial assistance of a confidential, complex and responsible nature to the administrator.
Administrative Support Personnel are classified in three categories A, B, C.
Administrative Support Personnel A is a 217 day employee based at a school.
Administrative Support Personnel B is a 261 day employee based at a school.
Administrative Support Personnel C is a 261 day employee based in Central Office
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
1. Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated aptitude or competence in the performance responsibilities listed below.
2. Must possess strong organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects professionally.
3. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Demonstrated computer skills.
5. Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Must be willing to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested.
7. Must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law.
JOB DESCRIPTION (Essential Common Functions):
1. Responsible for all correspondence, reports, memos, newsletters generated by the administrator.
2. Compile and coordinate essential and confidential data for action by the administrator.
3. Obtain gather and organize pertinent data for Federal, State and district reports.
4. Greet staff, parents and the public in a professional manner consistent with the expectations of the district.
5. Place and receive telephone calls, record messages
6. Process and track building use in coordination with permits.
7. Maintain a schedule of appointments; make arrangements for conferences, meetings as requested by the administrator.
8. Perform student related service as necessary (registration, verification of absences, tardiness).
9. Receive and check in deliveries to the district/school to assure acceptability and conformity with Business Office procedures.
10. Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office environment.
11. Supports building/district administrator with free/reduced lunch information.
12. Assists in maintaining attendance record of personnel.
13. Assists in maintaining professional development records of personnel.
14. Manages home schooling records and communication (Category C).
15. Prepares and maintains budget.
16. Process and track building use and coordination.
17. Perform any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position, including payroll, purchase orders, accounts payable and petty cash accounts.
18. Perform special assignments, studies, routine functions and other related duties as required by administration.
19. Prepare annual inventory of school books. Compiles requests and prepares orders.
20. Coordinate and distribute non-public textbooks (Category C).
21. Coordinate and issue working papers (Category C).
22. Perform tasks or services consistent with the job goals of the position.
23. Assume other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.

Administrative Support Personnel B is a 261 day employee
Administrative Support Personnel C is a 261 day employee

1st Reading – June 16, 2011
2nd Reading and Approval – July 21, 2011
