COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PARENT INFORMATION COORDINATOR

 

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Experience in program management, personnel management and staff development.
  3. Experience in coordination of family services and parenting education.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication.
  5. Experience in grant writing.
  6. Experience in public relations.
  7. Knowledge of budget management.
  8. Knowledge of the Aquidneck Island communities.
  9. Experience with service integration and collaboration.
  10. Experience managing school age child care programs.
  11. Knowledge of child development.
  12. Experience working with parents, staff and community.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Superintendent of Schools or designee

 

JOB GOALS:

 

To develop, manage and coordinate Community Outreach and Parent Information.

 

EVALUATION:

 

Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

In accordance with grant guidelines/funding.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Create opportunities for agencies, organizations, community stakeholders and families to collaborate.
  2. Coordinate and provide leadership to the COZ Governance Board and its standing committees.
  3. Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the COZ program goals and objectives outlined in the district’s Strategic Plan.
  4. Coordinate services for children and families of Middletown, giving priority to the target service population.
  5. Maintain network of resource and referral information for community.
  6. Train, supervise and evaluate COZ personnel, when needed.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all COZ projects and activities.
  8. Conduct needs assessments as necessary to identify changing program service priorities.
  9. Develop public relations/public engagement committee and implement public relations plan for the Middletown community.
  10. Promote the Middletown Public Schools through public speaking engagements.
  11. Maintain all grant program budgets and expenditures in accordance with grant awards.
  12. Plan for restructuring current funding sources to support COZ after DOE funds are no longer available.
  13. Write grant proposals to maintain, expand and improve the COZ Initiative.
  14. Participate in all RI DOE COZ activities designed to support COZ coordinators.
  15. Prepare monthly/end-of-the-year reports on all COZ programs.
  16. Assume other duties and assignments that may be made from time to time by the Superintendent of Schools.
