COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PARENT INFORMATION COORDINATOR
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in program management, personnel management and staff development.
- Experience in coordination of family services and parenting education.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Experience in grant writing.
- Experience in public relations.
- Knowledge of budget management.
- Knowledge of the Aquidneck Island communities.
- Experience with service integration and collaboration.
- Experience managing school age child care programs.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Experience working with parents, staff and community.
REPORTS TO:
Superintendent of Schools or designee
JOB GOALS:
To develop, manage and coordinate Community Outreach and Parent Information.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
In accordance with grant guidelines/funding.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create opportunities for agencies, organizations, community stakeholders and families to collaborate.
- Coordinate and provide leadership to the COZ Governance Board and its standing committees.
- Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the COZ program goals and objectives outlined in the district’s Strategic Plan.
- Coordinate services for children and families of Middletown, giving priority to the target service population.
- Maintain network of resource and referral information for community.
- Train, supervise and evaluate COZ personnel, when needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all COZ projects and activities.
- Conduct needs assessments as necessary to identify changing program service priorities.
- Develop public relations/public engagement committee and implement public relations plan for the Middletown community.
- Promote the Middletown Public Schools through public speaking engagements.
- Maintain all grant program budgets and expenditures in accordance with grant awards.
- Plan for restructuring current funding sources to support COZ after DOE funds are no longer available.
- Write grant proposals to maintain, expand and improve the COZ Initiative.
- Participate in all RI DOE COZ activities designed to support COZ coordinators.
- Prepare monthly/end-of-the-year reports on all COZ programs.
- Assume other duties and assignments that may be made from time to time by the Superintendent of Schools.
