SCHOOL COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN OF MIDDLETOWN, RHODE ISLAND

Having been filed with the Middletown Public Schools under the Rules of the School Committee, the following business items will come before the School Committee meeting February 26, 2026. Executive Session and Regular Meeting in the Michael S. Pinto Conference Room, 26 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, Rhode Island 02842. The meeting will be in person. Members of the public may access and listen to the meeting in real time on the Middletown Public Schools YouTube channel.

The items listed in the consent portion of the agenda are to be considered routine by the School Committee and will ordinarily be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Committee or a member of the public requests and the School Committee Chair permits. In that event, the item will be removed from Consent Agenda consideration and considered in its normal sequence on the agenda. All items on this agenda, except for the Public Forum/Comment Session, may be considered, discussed, and voted upon in executive and/or open sessions.

According to RIGL §42-46-6(b). Notice – “Nothing contained herein shall prevent a public body, other than a school committee, from adding additional items to the agenda by majority vote of the members.” And “…Such additional items shall be for informational purposes only and may not be voted on except where necessary to address an unexpected occurrence that requires immediate action to protect the public or to refer the matter to an appropriate committee or to another body or official.”

Individuals may speak for no longer than three (3) minutes and must submit a public participation form to the School Committee Clerk before the start of the meeting. Non-agenda items discussed in the public forum will not be voted upon at this meeting.
