A.    Council Workshop – Discussion only on the proposed Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget.

 

1.  Community Development

·         Planning & Economic Development – Keith Byrnes Video

Mr. Brynes stated they decreased their personnel budget by 89K by not refilling the position of an employee who transferred to another department within the city.

 

2. Public Safety

·         Police Department – Michael Rapoza Video

 Police Chief Rapoza stated 82 men and  women do a formidable job and currently the department is working on recruitment and retention. The current purchase of vehicles will help with coverage for the city.

·         Fire Department – Michael Carey Video

 

3. EP Providence School Department – Sandy Foran Video

Total student enrollment for ’25-’26 is 5,257. Cost increases for upcoming year is $878,000 in health care increases, $3.1 million in salary increases and $350,000 loss of federal funding. Budget impacts $6M out of District placements, $7.52M total transportation costs, $83.3M salary/Benefit Series. Total change from last year is $2,288,145 increase
