Any person who submits a communication to the Council and wishes to speak on it must indicate this in writing no later than 4:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting. A person who lists more than one topic on their communication will be allowed to speak on the first one listed.

All persons wishing to make public comment shall sign a public comment sheet stating their name, address and the subject of their comments. Each speaker will be limited to three (3) minutes. The order of speakers will be on a first come, first serve basis and the maximum time for public comment shall by limited to thirty (30) minutes per meeting.

3. Update on City Council Veterans Advisory Committee – Councilman Lawson
- On Saturday, May 11, the East Providence Elks Veterans Committee will host a veteran’s expo with many vendors that deal with veteran issues and veteran causes at the Pierce Athletic Complex at 4:00 PM.
- The Memorial Day Parade is on May 27th, and the parade will step off at 10:00 AM.
- On Thursday, June 6, they are having their next veterans get together at Crook Point Brewery at 6:00 PM.
- The Elks are hosting a whiffle ball tournament fundraiser on June 2nd.
4. Discuss Noise Ordinance concerns Ferris Avenue – Discuss – Council Vice President Rego
- The neighbors are concerned with trash pickup at 4:00 AM.
- Councilman Lawson states that there was a good turnout (around 50 people). They discussed school issues, development, and accountability.
- Vice-President Rego asks for ideas that will help small businesses. He suggests that the week before the 4th of July, highlight the eight liquor stores and other small businesses.
- Vice-President Rego suggests the purchase of lawn signs and/or window cling sings.

- They have weekly meetings to insure progress progression and to address any concerns.

- The DEM grant was awarded to cover $200,000 of the $250,000.

- They are working on upgrades this season. They should be done by the end of the year with paving completed for the parking lot in the next several months. The curbing needs to be installed, the lights were wired, and the parking lot was painted.
F. Pierce Field
- They are working with the engineer and architect on the scope of the project. They’re working on the renovations to address a number of issues.
G. Former Oldham building
- Patricia Resende, Chief of Staff, states that they are having a meeting and moving right along with that project.

- Kent Heights ground break in terms of adaptive playground equipment was on April 15th. Construction is ongoing, and the expected completion date is late summer early fall.
- There’s a call for artists that’s planned for this month. An RFQ was issued to paint the mural at the Crescent Park sea wall. The selection committee will select the first round of finalists over the coming weeks.
- The city applied for $250,000 in commerce RI streetscape improvement funding. There was a $50,000 match. Features were enhanced along Warren Avenue, including tree plaining, side walk improvements, new trash receptacles, benches, and cross walk replacement.
- Regarding Crescent Park, they met with the architect on the location and the layout of the building.
- Construction for the parking lot on Warren Avenue will begin soon.

1. Standing Item - Discuss impact of Washington Bridge closure in the City of East Providence – City Council
- Vice Council-President Rego states that removing the barriers would open up a lane of traffic going over the Henderson Bridge.
- Vice Council-President Rego asks if they are receiving checks from the state of Rhode Island in regards to all of the traffic patrols that they have.
- Patricia Resende, Chief of Staff, states that they have been reimbursed for most of that funding thus far.
