- Erik Skadberg, city engineer, gives an update on the field project. Skadberg anticipates that the field will be open to the public next spring.
- Request for latest update from architect on Clam Shack project at Crescent Park – Councilman Lawson
- The director states that they’ve done test pits and they’re now working with CRMC.
- Request for update on Beach Raking project at Crescent Park – Councilman Lawson
- DPW Director states that they would like to start scheduling the Beach Raking project regularly.

- DPW Director states that additional work still needs to be done. Since benches have not been ordered yet, they will put benches from another park there temporarily.
- Update from Veterans Advisory Committee – discuss – Councilman Lawson
- Councilman Lawson states that they had an awesome parade and thanks Anna and Brian for providing the float for veterans with mobility issues.
- On Thursday, June 6, they are having their next veterans get together at Crook Point Brewery at 6:00 PM. It is also the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
6. Update on Wampanoag trail Abandoned property Nursing Home/rehab center100 Wampanoag Trail Map 408, Block 10, Parcel 024-00 – discuss – Councilman Fogarty
- The director states that it’s currently going through receivership and there is a current bidder. The current idea is to use that lot for housing.
- Councilman Fogarty states that the upkeep of the property is not up to an acceptable standard.
7. Discussion of accountability to contact RI Energy for identifying and removing rotted utility poles. Possible temporary position to identify and compile list(s)of all of our crippling utility poles around the city with follow up on removal dates – discussion - Councilman Fogarty
- DPW Director states that it is a combination of either Rhode Island energy, Verizon, or Cox who owns the pole, which makes the situation more complex.
- A new pole with an old pole attached to it takes months for all of the utilities to transfer their utility off a pole.
8. Inquiry regarding timeline for South Broadway underground utilities and repaving estimates – discuss – Councilman Fogarty
- DPW Director states that they are out to bid for the cleaning aligning project, the bid opening date is in the next few weeks, and that they intend on awarding that project to the lowest bidder.
- Councilman Fogarty’s idea is that while the bridge is out, widen South Broadway to have both lanes going north towards the highway and to have no parking on the right.

9. Discussion regarding the bridge demolition impact on timeline on state roads scheduled to start paving in 2026 – discuss – Councilman Fogarty
- Councilman Fogarty states that director Alviti said that they were getting Pawtucket Avenue done in 2026.
- Mayor DaSilva states that Willard Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway are on the schedule to get paid.
10. Request for sidewalks on Pawtucket Ave done in concrete as previously discussed in coordination with our State Paving, Ensuring All handicap entrances and exits are quality for our wheelchairs, bicycles, walkers, and our signage is visible and appealing

- DPW Director states that they meet with the contractor regularly every Thursday morning and that they’ve made significant progress on the back portion of the property.
12. Request of inspection Silver Spring Golf Course to ensure maintenance on Pawtucket Ave sidewalk/street – discuss – Councilman Fogarty
- Council President Rodericks states that Silver Spring Golf Course and Mobile Exxon have not yet reached an agreement regarding the lease.
13. Request for copies of grant applications and awards to Community Center- discuss – Council Vice President Rego
- The director states that they have the documents prepared for the Council.

15. Paving update timeline and no parking status for Martin Street – discuss – Councilman Fogarty
- DPW Director states that there is no specific schedule for Martin Street. He states that it is on the list to be paved and that it will be paved this year.

- DPW Director states that Cornell Street will be paved before the end of the paving season.

- Councilman Lawson states that there is a resolution regarding the new construction of a recreation center.

21. Formal request for a stop sign east and West bound on Crescent View Ave at the bike path crossing – discuss – Councilman Lawson
- DPW Director discussed with the engineering department, and they do not recommend putting a stop sign at this location. Currently, it is signaled with flashing yellow for vehicles to yield to bikers and bikers are required to stop at the intersection.
22. Glenlyon Field Fence Resolution No. 74 review – discuss – Council Vice President Rego
- Since part of the fence will be on private property, they have to enter an agreement with the property owners. The property owners haven’t signed the property deal yet.
23. Activity and paving of Miriam Street and Rhode Island Energy – discuss – Council Vice President Rego
24. Update on lights on walking path at Glenlyon Field – discuss – Council Vice President Rego
- DPW director states that the lights have been ordered for Glenlyon Field. However, they don’t have an estimated delivery date. He also states that they intend on installing the lights themselves with city staff.
- Regarding the walking path, DPW director states that they have some work to do internally with the highway division to repair some larger broken sections of pavement before the paving contractor can come in. They also hope to have them mobilized in the next three to four weeks.
25. Request for stop sign at Bishop and Tyron Avenue – discuss – Council Vice President Rego
- Vice President Rego states that more people and children exit St. Margaret’s on the Bishop Avenue sign and that there is concern of cars speeding by the school.

- DPW director states that he spoke with the city engineer and states that a stop sign exists on Tryon at Ferris. He does not recommend a stop sign on Ferris because the number of vehicles do not meet the minimum requirement for a stop sign.

- Council Vice-President Rego states that Bishop and Ferris Avenue have bumps and mini sink holes. He also states that Chaffee Street continues to flood.

1. Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of East Providence Appropriating Funds For The Full-Time Operation Of A Fourth Rescue
- The Chief states that they have a full-time forth rescue for 42 hours a week, Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- The Chief is concerned with finding the funding for the new positions.
- The Chief states that this change will put him in a $500,000 deficit.
