A. National Prescription Opiate Litigation, C.A. No. 1:17-MD-2804
Update and possible vote to approve proposed settlement with Teva and Allergan Pharmaceutical Companies
- Solicitor Marcello updated the Council on the proposed settlement. Stated the funds allocated could be used for certain drug remediation issues, and also toward the purchase of Narcan for police departments. Solicitor Marcello is looking for the authority to enter into an agreement with Teva and Allergan.
- Motion to enter into an agreement made by Councilwoman Sousa. Seconded by Councilman Cahoon. Motion passes 5-0

1. Introduction of ordinances – For discussion and possible vote – First Passage
a. An ordinance in amendment of Chapter 2 of the revised ordinances of the City of East Providence, Rhode Island, 1998, as amended, entitled “Administration”
Summary: The purpose of this Ordinance is to redraw the ward boundaries to comply with the results of the 2020 census.
- Solicitor Marcello recaps the workshop, stating that the option of Plan D was chosen and this meeting is for first passage of the ordinance.
- Councilwoman Sousa asked for voter numbers, Priti Mathur joins the meeting via zoom.
- Councilman Cahoon inquires about Mink being Road or Street
- Priti Mathur reviews all of the numbers with the Council
- Motion to approve by Councilman Cahoon. Seconded by Council Vice President Rodericks. Motions passes 5-0
