As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure of City Hall, this public hearing will be conducted in person and/or virtually through an application called “Zoom”.

 

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, USE THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:

Option 2. TO PARTICIPATE IN PERSON

 

You can attend in person, subject to COVID-19 restrictions regarding face masks, social distancing and a limit of 125 persons or 66% capacity of the location. All persons attending may also be subject to temperature/symptom screening for the COVID-19 virus.

 

Once entered, you will be able to join the meeting. At the appropriate time for public comments/public hearing, the moderator will allow you to provide comment at the meeting.

 

In addition, written public comment on this item can be submitted by emailing the City Clerk at: sburnett@eastprovidenceri.gov or mailed/dropped off at City Hall, Attention: City Clerk, 145 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island 02914

 

All written public comment must be received by 4:00 p.m. on September 25, 2020.

 

All proposed ordinances were advertised in the

September 10, September 17th and September 24th 2020 editions of The East Providence Post.

 

I.          CALL TO ORDER – Council President Britto called the meeting to order.

II.         OPEN SESSION - Began after the Call to Order.

III.        PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE-Pledge led by Council President Britto

 

Prior to beginning with the Public Hearing, there was a letter that was read from Marshall Development to Council President Britto and City Clerk, Samantha Burnett stating they are withdrawing their petition to this matter. Signed by Zachary Darrow, Esquire.

Council President Britto stated that the Council would proceed with the Public Hearing and that in regarding to there would be no action of vote with respect to the re-zoning due to the applicant withdrawing their application.

 

Roll call was made by the City Clerk at the request of Council President Britto. All members were present.

 

Present for the Council was the City Clerk, Samantha Burnett and the City Solicitor, Michael Marcello.

Michael Marcello provided advisement, suggestions, definitions as needed and interpretations of ordinances as needed for this meeting.

 

Council held an interactive dialogue with the public during the meeting, answering questions of the residents to the best of their abilities.
